I was very late with the 10 month photos, but here we are on 11 months already.

I was unconvinced about modesty pants/bloomers/pantaloons when I first discovered all little girl summer outfits come with them. What is wrong with seeing a nappy, I wondered. Then I saw GJ’s cloth-nappied bottom in a set of bloomers and laughed so hard I’ve decided I like them.

You’ll also see she’s in a red and white striped t-shirt now instead of the long sleeved top for the first 10 months. That’s mostly because she’s outgrown it. Back when I first used it, I had to roll the sleeves up three times.

This month is all about handing things to people, or putting things inside other things.

I’m now so late with these updates that I took the 11 months photos before I could post the 10 month ones. I’m back at work and trying to decorate GJ’s room…well, that’s my excuse. So this was a month ago.

We took her to a farm,

and Bristol Comics Con where she followed my tradition there of crawling around the bar (no photo). Here she is on the HST back, which she enjoyed a lot.

I can’t really cover what new developments there were, as I can’t now remember!

For some reason to do with security stuff, the older photos aren’t appearing on the blog, but are visible on flickr. Anyway, someone has now been out for nearly as long as she was in.

On the plus side, she can be distracted by a rubber duck held above the camera in order to get the laying down shots.

Developments are mostly around increasing mobility, and puzzle-solving. She’s learnt to dismantle one wooden block toy to get the bit she wants from it, and routinely fishes iPhones out of hiding places. She does, however, still love her spoon.

I found that Pegasus rocking chair horse thing in a charity shop for five whole pounds. It just needed a clean, and a new crossbar fitting.

Yes, her 9 month birthday is next week. None the less, here is GJ’s monthly update for 8 months.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, i.e. GJ’s self-will, there isn’t a ‘lying down on the quilt’ photo. This is the most in-focus shot from the quilt ones.

Developments include crawling forwards, pulling up to standing including peering over the foot of the cot like chad (wot? no nap?), and a wide range of new noises including “ma ma”.

Suddenly the time is flying. I vaguely remember how drawn out the first three months seemed. “When she gets to three months…” was a refrain. Now there seems barely any time between photos.

The lying down photos don’t really show the changes. She sits happily now, eats almost anything offered (avocado didn’t go down well), and is getting more mobile. And can be stood by us.

She’s worked out that she can pull herself up in the cot, but not quite how to do it. Last night she attempted a front somersault of the changing table.

Developments include: sitting unaided, eating solids (well, mush really) and growing teeth. Two at the front bottom. Ow, ow, ow.

She’s also been for a couple of rides on the rocking horse at the local library.
